Operating Systems of Best Smartphone 2011

Thursday, August 25, 2011

There are generally three competitors nowadays  between mobile device operating systems, these being: Google’s Android, Blackberry OS and iOS (iPhone). Google Android and iPhone are generally very similar in features, Android being the more customizable geek(ish) choice allowing you to make very extensive customizations whereas iOS is very simple, not really allowing for huge changes to the way the phone operates but there is a lot more simplicity in use. Blackberry OS on the otherhand would be the most different of the three, going with a mix between Google’s Android and iOS. Blackberry is specifically designed for a more business-orientated audience, however individuals (such as power users) can still find use of a Blackberry.

HTC ThunderBolt:

Thunderbolt - Best smartphone 2011
HTC Thunderbolt

HTC has always made great business phones, they are always of great build quality and amazing aesthetics. HTC is definitely a dependable company, regardless of application (super users, light user, business). However, in a business decision this would be the best smartphone 2011 for business users. Sporting a 4.3 inch WVGA screen it may seem a bit ‘big’ but you will definitely want enough screen space when using it for reading emails/collaboration, big is never big enough. The ThunderBolt even makes use of the new 4g network, capable of amazing new data transfer speeds you will be able to stay up to date with your business on the go, around the clock.
With a snapdragon 1ghz processor and 768mb of ram and 720p HD video, the Thunderbolt is definitely a beast of a smartphone capable of handling most, if not all the tasks you require of it.
The ThunderBolt is available on the Verizon network.

Samsung Galaxy 2:

Samsung Galaxy 2
This phone is a beast. Having owned the regular Samsung Galaxy S 1900, I have had a chance to test the newer version. It’s absolutely amazing what this phone can do and it looks fantastic, rivaling even the iPhone in terms of aesthetics. I have always found Samsung to be a producer of sturdy, workable phones and this smartphone is certainly no exception. This could potentially be the best smartphone 2011. I am definitely looking forward to getting one in the coming months. Alright, let’s get down to specifications.
The samsung galaxy s runs on Android 2.3 gingerbread, which is the latest android release with all the new bells and whistles that come along with it. It sports a 4.3 inch super AMOLED plus display with a 1ghz dual core processor, yeah that’s right. Dual core. This phone is capable of incredible processing power, being able to run many different applications at once multitasking has never been so easy. Definitely a buy for power users. The Samsung Galaxy 2 could potentially be the best smartphone 2011.

Apple iOS – Top picks for Best Smartphone 2011

Most people own iPhone’s and it is really not surprising why, they’re simple and very effective. Plus, they look and feel amazing. Apple is a company known for tailoring the best customer experience within their products and the iPhone 4 really does reflect this fact. Being the 4th descendant of the iPhone family the iPhone 4 had a bit of a troubled start when it first appeared on the market, having antenna issues when you had your hand on the outside of the phone. The signal would automatically drop to zero, resulting in Apple having to ship out bumpers that stopped users accidentally dropping reception on their phones. Bummer. Luckily Apple has bounced back and fixed the problem with the antenna, allowing for a great user experience right out of the box.
The iPhone 4 sports a retina 3.5 inch display, it sport s a 1 GHz processor.

Blackberry Torch

The Blackberry Torch is effectively the best Blackberry on the market to date, being the best choice for both business and power users. I have never been a huge fan of Blackberry however, I find the company too focused towards business users and less personal use orientated, this however will not disadvantage you if your looking to use your phone for more business orientated activities. With a 3.2 inch screen with a 624MHz processor, it’s not really beating any other of the contenders in processing power. However, the Blackberry, being made specifically for business use, has a more business orientated OS design which will aid business users more then any other phone
